Before jumping into the details of your wedding, take a step back and think about the feeling you would like to evoke. The perfect way to do this is by choosing a color palette for your wedding.
After all, the colors you choose will leave a lasting impression on your guests. Why not coordinate the details of the wedding — the flowers, candles, shoes, neckties, decor, and whatnot — to work together and help to evoke a feeling.

There are seasonal criteria to consider, for instance: Spring and summer are the perfect time for pastels, and summer is ideal for vivid colors as well. Autumn allows you to combine collections of brown, while rich jewel tones work well for holiday and winter weddings. Softly iridescent colors are best for daytime ceremonies and receptions; metallic neutrals, like bronze, gold, and platinum, work better at night
You’ll be surprised how choosing a color palette becomes your inspiration for creativity. For instance, the palette above contains the seemingly unusable color fluorescent purple. Also, be sure to involve your wedding planner, photographer, and caterer for ideas. Ask to see pictures of recent weddings that were inspired by a palette. Don’t forget to consider the existing decor of the venue, too. A recent bride at Waldorf Astoria Orlando based her palette on a vibrant burnt orange glass bowl that is on display outside of the Grand Ballroom. The resulting decor combinations were breathtaking.
